New in 2007

The cottage is a work in progress and each year brings some changes to the accomodation. The most noticable improvements this year are the completion of the shed and addition of a queen sized bed in the bedroom. This bumped the bedroom futon out into the main room.

The bedroom is far more cosy than it was and no longer functions as a bedroom/storage area.

The most noticable change this year has been the addition of the shed. The storage shelves from the cottage now have a more suitable home along with the tools and generator.

The Cottage

The cottage is located on Brians Way in Savary Shores subdivision. It is close, about a ten minute walk, to "Downtown Savary" where the local pub, general store, bike shop, gift shop, and church can be found. A few steps further will take one to the beach path off of Patricia Crescent. The more adventuresome vacationer can spend days hiking or biking the trails and roads, exploring the many beaches and sights of the island.

The cottage itself is quite cosy. Meals can be enjoyed either indoors, by candlelight, or out on the patio under the umbrella. There are benches out on the deck for enjoying the sunshine and a Mexican hammock is strung up under the trees for those wanting to put their feet up or have a nap.

The living room has a fireplace for rainy days and cool evenings or for those who want to explore Savary Island during the quiet, cooler months of the year. One of the three, queen sized futons is also located here, to provide extra sleeping room for larger groups of guests. The loft and bedroom also have futons and the cottage has room for six comfortably.

The cottage has hot and cold running water and the bathroom boasts what many have called "The Best Tub" on Savary. The Japanese style soaker tub alows one or two to relax and unwind after a long day of exploring or sitting on the beach. Be sure to bring bath oils or bubbles if you are a soaker. The tub also has a shower for those who prefer a quick rinse to get the sand off.

The new kitchen is stocked with pots and pans, dishes, a variety of spices, and a storage area under the sink for keeping your empty bins or recyclables. A BBQ sits outside the sliding doors for easy access and a propane stove and fridge/freezer are inside. A washer/dryer unit is available for the convenience of those staying longer than a week and a drying rack is available for hanging beach towels.
